When listening Magnolia by Laufey for the first time you might be to caught up in the melodies to fully see that the story is the third person view of a person who doesn't see their worth. When people don't see of bad self talk they see the beauty our magnolia.

On the outside perspective we might see a perfect person thinking; 'how can I compete with her? Perfection is the only word I think of when I think of Magnolia." While the person is wallowing is self pity they are unable to see the truth they might not see how;"the world is turning just for {them}" Because of the unseen hurt its impossible to see what it is truely like in their shoes which is where the: " I wish she'd give her secrets away...I think it'd be fun to be like her someday," Lyric comes from; naive wanting to know what their life is like on the inside.

Magnolia by Laufey is a beautiful song about seeing your true worth but at the same time wanting to be like someone without seeing what their life is really like. While we are often too busy finding flaws about ourselves others may see us as perfect wondering "how are you doing it all" and thinking about how perfect you are. Begging to know your secret and to walk a day in your shoes.

My name is Elyana, and I love analyzing songs, books, and movies. This article is about a song that is very close to my heart “Magnolia” by Laufey. It’s a beautiful piece, but its deeper meaning is what truly makes it so breathtaking and emotionally relieving.
