Romney hosts Town Hall Meeting in Michigan
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney visited Eagle Manufacturing in Shelby Township, Michigan on February 21, 2012 in an effort to earn the support of his home state.
Romney was born and raised in Michigan and his father, George Romney, was a Governor in Michigan. Despite these connections, Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum is beating Romney in the polls. In fact, a new EPIC-MRA poll published on February 22 shows Santorum with 37% and Romney with 34% for the Michigan primary.
With a few more days until the primary, the candidates are trying to get their message across the the voters in Michigan and Arizona. Santorum is spending his time in Arizona, hoping to do better in the polls there. Romney was expected to win Michigan and Arizona earlier in the month, however, Santorum's surge explained otherwise.
