On The Shore
I’ve been swimming in this ocean for my entire life. As a child I swam with others to the shore with great ease, but as I grew older the ocean waves became stronger, the salt water limited my vision, and the fog slowly consumed the shore. The children and the dying can see the shore, some choose to swim to it, but others decide against it and live out the remainder of their lives in this ocean. Below their feet are other’s who have died amongst the waves, their dreams and potential lie on the seafloor along with their lifeless bodies. I will not wait until I grow old to battle the sea, I will swim now through the fog and when the waves come crashing down upon me, I will swim through them because I will see the shore.
