Jason tells me he loves the beach.

We splash through the waves. Then the bullets start ripping apart guys left and right. The water bled, dark red and thick… I remember…

I remember Jason fell, just fell over, like he fainted or something. I look over and he’s gone and I’m screaming while the whole sky is thunder and fireworks and now all I can think is getting up that beach, just slipping on the sand and climbing over all these bodies

I glimpse the hazy ridge, beyond reachable. What a day at the beach. I just wish it was happy.
