Sad Kids
“Why you crying?” The little boy asked the girl lying on the pavement of the sidewalk.
“Uh…” The girl gurgled under a water-fall of tears and a nose filled with snot.
“ I sad, why you crying?” The boy said again.
The girl stared at the in loathing, pulled in a breath of air, and screamed,”GO AWAY!”
The boy simply stared, then took a step forward.
“Back! Get away! I don’t want your help!”
The boy stopped and looked questioningly at her. The girl stopped yelling and stared.
“I want you stop.” The boy said.
The girl didn’t respond, she was staring beyond the boy. At something behind him.
“What’s it?” The boy asked and turned around, to see the headlights of the car that had swerved off the road. The boy didn’t move. The car, kept going.
