Breath of the Sea
Her eyes closed as the last breath of wind whispered over her skin, running up and down her shaking arms. Her hair danced in the winds grasp and shook sand into the wild night. Escape is what she dreamed of, what she yearned for. A place to go where no other has been before.
Standing in the setting sun that cold October night she began to cry. Tears of pain and sorrow leaked from her very core, and were dusted away by the wind, reminiscent memories of what could have, should have been. Breathing in the salty fumes, the girl relaxed.
The ocean was her home. It was where she belonged. He couldn't get her here, he couldn't grasp her skin under his gnarly fingers. She was protected. The ocean made sure of it.
