Could Have Been
It was just like any other night. I was sitting at home watching low-budget comedies when my face book app notified me of a message. I clicked on the notification and saw:
“Hey! Do I know you?”
My heart sank. The boy I have had a crush on for many years finally realized I exist. Is this real life? Am I being punked? Who cares? Something great could be happening.
“hey there! Uh, I think we’ve met a few times haha.”
“Oh, well, I’m Patrick. Its nice to meet you.”
“Hi, Patrick! I’m Blair. Its lovely to meet you as well. Whats up? ”
“Just hanging out. Are you a senior?”
“Nope.”
“Then what are you?”
“A sophomore.”
“Woah, you look way older.”
“Yeah, I kinda get that a lot.” He read it and never responded.
And just like that… something that could have been great, ended.
