The Reason
The Reason
It wasn’t because his dad died of a heart attack two months ago.
It wasn’t because his girlfriend dumped him at the party last night in front of everyone.
It wasn’t because of the kid he accidentally killed at school last year.
It was because he didn’t have control of his emotions.
No control of his own actions, no control of his own mind.
It was everything, building up inside and brewing a wicked wish.
Depression has stolen his heart.
He wanted to end it all.
He wanted to die.
It seemed so simple, so easy.
Was this the only way?
It must be.
It has to be.
The gun fired through his fragile skull and the bullet came to a screeching stop in the middle of his imprisoned mind.
A single flash of regret and doubt overwhelmed his thoughts before he could change his mind.
All the life drained from him and spilled onto his bedroom floor.
Never again did the pain come back, but this is not how he wanted it anymore. It was too late.
A second passed.
It was all over now.
