The Hate Sister

It was a cold and snowy day, when Kacy Jones was born. Mrs. Jones already had a boy named Josh Jones, who was currently two years old. Mrs. Jones always wanted a girl so she was very happy. Throughout the years, Mrs. Jones really pampered Kacy by giving her anything she wanted. Mrs. Jones was so busy fulfilling Kacy’s needs that she barely noticed Josh. This made Josh really angry, so when Mrs. Jones put the Kacy to sleep, Josh would beat Kacy up. Kacy would cry and cry; hearing this noise Mrs. Jones would come in and ask her what happened. Although Kacy was hurt, she would never tell Mrs. Jones that Josh hit her. This happened often, so often to the point that Kacy started bleeding but still she never said a word. It was logical to believe that not telling Mrs. Jones gave Josh another chance to beat Kacy, but to Kacy, she felt that one day Josh will realize his mistake.
Kacy was now 18-years old. She was an independent woman. She got accept to Harvard and is becoming a doctor. Josh was 20- years old and got accepted to NYU Stern and is starting a business soon. Life moved on and Kacy felt that she should forget the past. One day Josh’s business failed, he was broke because he spent his lifesaving on that business. He had no place to go because if he goes to his mom, she would brag and say that Kacy would never lose all her money. Even worse, she would say that Kacy is an efficient spender; all this would make Josh’s blood boil. All of Josh’s friends lived really far from here, so his only choice was to go to Kacy’s house. When Josh arrived at Kacy’s house, it was a hot, summer day. Kacy was so happy to see Josh but she was more curious than happy.
Kacy said, “Josh what a surprise to see you!”
Josh replied with, “I need a place to stay; I’ll only be here for a few days.”
Kacy was afraid to ask but she asked, “Why? Is something wrong?”
Josh said, “I rather not talk about it and I suggest for your betterment that you don’t mention this again.”
Kacy listen to this so called advice and never said anything about it again. Kacy thought this was a chance to show Josh that she is a nice person who cares about him. As the day flew by, Kacy cleaned his clothes, gave him good food and did everything she could to help Josh. One day Kacy decided the only way to help Josh was to give him a job; Kacy knew the manager from the Apple Computer Company who needs an executive director to his company. She asked him if Josh qualified and he sure did. The manager loved his profile so much that he said he would give Josh the job tomorrow. Although Kacy wanted to tell Josh about his job, she asked the manager to call her house and tell Josh himself. At home Josh was alone and suddenly the phone rang, since Kacy wasn’t here he picked it up. On the phone, the manager of the Apple Computer Company told Josh that he wants to give him a job as executive director of his company. Josh was shocked but he asked, “How did you receive my profile?” The manager thought for a second that Kacy didn’t mention not to say her name so the manager told Josh what happened. Josh didn’t know what to feel. He wasn’t sure if he was angry at Kacy or happy with what Kacy did. For a moment he felt as if Kacy did this so Josh would leave her house but than again he thought that Kacy won’t be so kind to him if she wanted him out of the house. He was starting to believe that Kacy wasn’t as bad as she seemed. He started to believe that it wasn’t her fault and that violence wasn’t the right way to deal with his problems. When Kacy returned, Josh wasn’t home. The only thing that she saw was a note saying:
Dear Kacy,
Thank You for all your help but I can’t stay here anymore. I’m ashamed of my actions and I can’t live with that guilt. I will take the job and I’ll definitely repay you.
Love your brother,

Josh
