"Let it Go"
“Let it Go”
“Let it go” I’d say to the little girl
When she drowns herself in yesterday’s pain
When the burning tears run and cleanse her tender face
And finally she lays broken and has no more left to drain
“Let it go” I’d say to the little girl
When she’s nothing but a lost shadow in the crowd
When she stands surrounded yet alone
And dares not even say a word out loud
“Let it go” I’d say to the little girl
When her heart sinks like a boat lost at sea
When she has mastered the art of masking pain
And no one can see
And in the end, I’ll say “Aren't you glad you let it go?”
When she has learned to swim and stay afloat even in a sea of despair
When she has learned to sail and navigate freely
And now she only dreams and dares
