Masks
Well my friend here I am, once again surrounded.
Surrounded by what you might ask.
Surrounded by the waves and oceans of pretenders.
How do I know this? I know this because I see it all.
I see the ones who wear long sleeves to hide their scars.
I see the ones who wear makeup to hide their pain.
I see the ones who bully to finally feel power.
I see the ones who fake bravado to mask the pain of losing a relationship.
I see the ones who are loud and mess around to make up for being lonely.
But it’s okay I’ll keep your secret for I’m the keeper and my friend we all have masks.

This took me a while to write because I had to own up to a lot of feelings that were and were not mine to share so I hope you enjoy.
