Life Changer
Life Changer
I am different. I don't look like the other kids. Hi, im Ella, I am 14 and just starting high school. I'm not one of those average teens you would see roaming the halls. I am my own person but for some reason being me isn't enough to fit in with the others. I was born with Down Syndrome, a disorder that makes me look a way that other kids make fun of. I don't come home and get on my computer and see messages from my friends. Instead, I see hate. To me it's not about looks, its about personality, what a person is like on the inside. Someone could be not so pretty but on the inside they are beautiful in their own unique way. Now we all have heard of those bully stories that leads to people hurting themselves or crying themselves to sleep. But for me, that's not the case. I am strong. I want to help other people like me learn how to cope and to focus on how God made their life. He chose you to be the person that lives that life because he knew you could be strong enough to handle it no matter how hard it gets. So if you are going through something hard, don't let it bring you down let it build you up, let it make you stronger as a human being because in reality we are all the same. I always like to say, “why fit in when you were born to stand out” because putting a smile on your face will always make a situation better. Live your best life and live it to the fullest.
A few years ago I didn't take the whole bullying thing so well. I would come home every day and cry for hours because of the kids at school. They treated me like I didn't belong. I walked down the hall with my head low and just like any other day, they stared. I believed that there was no way to fix the way I felt. It was like a never ending train that you have been waiting on to pass for what feels like forever. One day after school I had gotten onto my computer and found a website from someone just like me. She taught me how to turn something bad into something beautiful. Everything happens for a reason no matter how good or how terrible it may be. Why spend your life being miserable when you can be happy. Nobody has forever, so spend what you do have in a way you wont regret. Life wasn't given to you so that you can feel sorry for yourself, it was given to you to enjoy. Sometimes it can feel impossible for things to get better, but if you try it will. From what I know bullying sucks, a lot. Letting it get to can tear you up, and living like that isn't fun. If you are going to make it through, do it with a smile.
