Love Changes Things
Axel Hemmings is a cheater. You think he's a bad guy, don't you? I mean, he cheated on his wife, who he's been with for ten years and has two kids with. Before you assume, let me tell you the story.
Axel is a charming man, 30 years old, but you'd guess he's 20 with his sharp jawline, sculpted cheekbones, light green eyes, and black hair that shows no sign of greying. He's perfect, except for the scar in the dip of his collarbone that he got from his childhood dog by accident. Even his body is ideal, with strong arms and a toned stomach that hints at his days in football back in high school. And his butt looks great in any kind of pants (just saying). But it's not his looks that make him so endearing to everyone who meets him; it's his gentle nature. Axel is the kindest man you'll ever meet; he's gentle with everything that crosses his path. To put it simply, his heart is made of gold. If he helped one person, then he calls it a good day. He loves helping people so much that he got a degree so he could be a therapist. Axel had everything most would dream of. A loving family, a job he loves, happiness... The list goes on. He thanked God every day for what he had and never took it for granted. Then he met Katherine Winter, and his life flipped upside down.
Katherine is a sweet woman, 25, but she lacks mental health. This is the reason she sought out therapy. She's beautiful, but that's not the reason the air got punched out of Axel's lungs when he met her; it was her strength, her childlike demeanor that was incredibly adorable, the way she held herself, how endearingly clumsy she was... The list goes on.
He spent weeks denying it. He didn't love her; he has a wife and two kids, and he loves them. But as Axel and Katherine had more and more appointments, and it became clear that she was falling for him too... It clicked. Axel hated himself for it. He couldn't just unlove her; he tried until he learned it doesn't work that way. Now he never lies to his wife; it's not lying if he doesn't tell her everything about his day. She never suspected anything anyway, which hurt Axel the most because he knew she trusted him. It tore at his very heart, his very soul, until there was nothing left of him. Except for one thing that seemed to never leave him, even if he tried to get away from it: his love for Katherine.
Katherine knows Axel has a wife and two kids because he told her, and it broke her heart knowing it couldn't work between them. But also because she knew he was cheating on his wife, for her. She had sympathy for his wife because she's been in that position with her ex-boyfriend. Katherine told Axel that it's best if she left, but he had already made up his mind. Axel made her promises he was determined to keep, and he told his wife he didn't love her anymore. There was no gentle way to do it, but he still tried. He held her through her tears, crying himself, and tried his best to explain to her that she will always have a place in his heart, and she will, always. Then she forced him out, and he left, his heart breaking and leaping at the same time.
Axel and Katherine will get married and have three kids: Alina, Cole, and Jace. They will teach their kids how to love one another just as they do, and they'll have countless happy memories together. Their little family, together forever.
As for Axel's ex-wife and two kids. Veronica will fall in love once again with a man named David, and she will have 2 children with David: Alec and Peter. And she will forgive her ex-husband. She still thinks of him with fondness rather than sadness. Axel's daughter, Rina, will forgive her father and have a husband and one child in her lifetime. And finally, Axel's son, Gale, will never truly forgive his father, but this is because he will never find true love in his life, so he never understands why his father left, and the struggles he went through. Even through everything, Axel still sees his kids and even co-parents with Veronica every once in a while. He'd hate to see her raise them alone. All the children between them are very close, like brothers and sisters. The parents go on double dates every once in a while to get away from the kids. They're all one big happy family.
If I know anything, these things are true: You can't force someone to love or forgive you just as much as you can't force yourself to love or unlove someone. Love is a living, breathing thing, and it will take its course whether you like it or not. Love is deadly and life-creating at the same time. Love is love. And you will find it, even if it's not the first time around.

Stereotypes are a big thing. People have a box that they put certain people in. But these stereotypes aren't always correct (in fact, they're usually not). If you don't know the person, don't put them in a box. They have reasons for what they do that you're not aware of.
