The Angel's Night
He stood in the snow, gentle white snowflakes falling on his hair and lashes. She stood a few paces in front of him. They were in a clearing in the woods, a giant pine tree directly in front of him. Softly, sweetly, she began to sing.
“Said the night wind to the little lamb
Do you see what I see
Way up in the sky little lamb
Do you see what I see
A star, a star
Dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite”
As her song progressed, the stars began to shine brighter and brighter, when they suddenly they seemed to be right on the pine tree. Voices of a heavenly chorus joined her voice, and together they became bells chiming in the night. Verse after verse, story after story, he stared awestruck at her, without saying a word. The song came to the end, and the voices around her faded out, until finally she was alone, singing,
“He will bring us goodness and light”
When the light had faded and they were alone once more, she turned around and met his eyes. She smiled and took his hand, as they silently walked back the way they came.
