The Mute Songbird

March 10, 2013
By Anonymous

The joy of living is a lovely thing,
But nothing compares to the light in you
A light shining so bright it makes me sing,
And ne'er your affections be overdue
Sometimes I wonder if you shall e'er see,
What it takes to have loved but never had
Alas, the one who goes unseen is me,
My love remains like an unwelcome fad.
I am always seen but remain unheard,
While I am in sadness, you are in mirth,
Just the simple plight of a mute songbird
Yet my voice can be heard around the earth.

Time is fleeting and when I have no love

I will move on in peace, the silent dove.
