The Escape
I woke up
A took a big gulp of cool refreshing water
It was like a big blue lake sitting in my belly
I looked outside to see that it was cold and rainy
I showered up and got ready for school
I came downstairs and my mom said “so good to see you”
My brother was for some reason talking about George Washington
Threw on my sandals and was out the door
I got to school and said Hola to my Spanish teacher
I did bad on my Spanish quiz and she asked why
“got no expectations now that I’m forsaken” I responded
“I’m finna drop this class”
School and life weren’t going well
The only escape was my dreams
I felt like a deep sea angler fish alone and in the dark
