All the while through the cold rain that occurred that day, the birds stayed, waiting for Taylor. When she arrived at the tree that afternoon the sight was wondrous. The creatures even shaded her from the weather as she reached up to a low branch, and delicately peeled up a crow. A sudden, peculiar rush came through Taylor’s mind as the bird was in her hands. Then she paused and set it back down, as a severe wind gust came through, it seemed as though to carry the crows towards something. Without warning, they began to gather around Taylor’s neighbor, who was also walking home. The neighbor, Ed, cried out during the unrelenting pecking, which appeared to almost stab him. Taylor didn’t realize it, but when she set her hands down, the birds retreated onto the ground. She ran into her house, opened the notebook on her desk and wrote Dear Sarah, (Sarah is the name she gave to her journal) I have found my place, and tonight, I start over again. Goodbye. Best of luck, Taylor.
