Dragons (Prologue)
"She's a witch!" They shout
"Burn her! Drown her!" the young children cry.
"She is the one who dances with DRAGONS!" Mothers call.
"Burn her! Drown her! Kill them all!"
Giant wings engulf me, beating to the sound of my heart beat
Whoosh...bum-bum...whoosh...bum-bum...whoosh...
I'm flying. I'm held in great paws with silver claws. I look up and see a giant green shout, piercing, ice blue eyes, and...a smile. This dragon has saved me. I am indebted to him.
We land in a cemetery. Nothing but the dead surrounds us. Literally. There are ghosts everywhere. I smile at one, and am returned with a smile translucent teeth.
The dragon looks down at me. "You are safe now, young water-fae."
I look at him, confused, but before I can ask an questions, he flaps his great wings and flies away.
They ghosts disappear like mist...I am alone.
