At the end of the day, we’re all going to die, and it’s better to accept it earlier

rather than later; However no matter how much we prepare it's always hard to lose

someone. Due to the fact that we can not spend time with them anymore and we will, no

matter how hard we try, we will forget about them. We will only remember fragments of

a person but never the whole person.

When I first heard about Michael's death, a storm of sadness overwhelmed my entire

being, I couldn't handle it, I told my boss my situation and he allowed me to take a few

days off. Once I got home, I was full of sadness, I just went to bed and stayed there for

the rest of day not believing what had happened*** two days after Michael's death I was

in my small. clustered bedroom, when I suddenly heard my doorbell ring, so I got up and

walk through my living room and opened the door it was may she smiled “Hey Michael”

“Oh, hi” I replied

May was my most recent ex-girlfriend, we had broken up five months ago this marked

the first time we had talked to each other since then.

“Look, Michael, I heard about what happened and wanted to support you”
“Thank you, I really appreciate it, not everyone would do this for me,” I told her with a
visible smile
“Why don't you come in?”
“Yes, thank you”
May walked into my house
“Why don't you have a seat?”
“Thanks”
She and I sat across from each other “so, what happened?” may start our conversation
“Michael was a bystander of a drive-by shooting and was fatally shot in his head”
“That's horrible”
“Yeah, and he was dead by the time they arrived at the hospital”
“I'm so sorry, I know you guys were friends since childhood”
“Yeah, I'm.just.so mad! He wasn't supposed to die now he should have lived a
long life, but now he won't be able to!”
“I can not imagine how you must feel, but-”
“Yeah, you cant”
“Please Anthony let me finish, you can't just sit here by yourself, you need to keep
yourself busy in order to nullify the pain”
“You have some good po-” BRRRRIIIING, BRRRRRIIING.

May answered her phone “hello? Yes, yes, I understand, ok bye” may turns to me “it
seems I need to get to work”
“I understand”
We both got up and I walked with her to the door.
“Thank you may, I feel better”
“No need to thank me”
“About what you said how about we go out for coffee to talk some more?”
“Yeah, maybe” she answered with a smile
“Well see you”
“See you too, Anthony,” she said as she walked to her car and drove away
