The neighbors all knew what went on in the cold brick house. Orion was always the subject of Bryce’s beatings and we knew one day he’d flee. I invited myself over to comfort her and she served me a strange soup. While savoring the last flavorful spoonful, I had to ask, “What happened to Bryce?”

this was cool, and so cold at the same time. i like it. it shows that not all scary stories have to be long.
