The Mysterious Man
“You have no idea who I am, do you?” He said as I felt his lifeless eyes peering into my
soul. “No, no I don't.” He smiled when I said those words, then he took off running. I tried to
chase him but my body didn't let me. I just couldn't go after the guy I knew was dangerous. My body just didnt let me move. It was as if I was stuck in quicksand. As I looked over to see my partner's lifeless body on the ground I heard a phone ring. It was his, the guy who took off running. I ran over and picked it up only to hear. “good job, but the other one saw what you looked like so now you have to kill him.” I knew he was talking about me because I was the only one still there. Before I could say anything he hung up. When I turned around I saw him again, then I heard a bang. As I fell down I heard two more and blacked out.
I woke up in the hospital with 3 injuries. I was told that I was in a coma for 1 year, and that the guy that did everything was never captured. I quickly recovered and was on the hunt for him. I was doing everything I could to find him to no avail. Then boom he dropped down in front of me and asked me the same question. “You don't know who I am and do you?” I quickly responded “No, but I do know i've met you before.” He laughs again and says “Yea you have, but it won't happen a second time.” I jump to the side without thinking and slam into him knocking him down. He laughs and says “Good job, but that won't happen again.” When he got up I was gone.
I woke up and thought I was in the hospital and looked around. I was in my apartment with no idea of what happened last night. I did know my shoulder hurt though and got up. Ate and ran to work. But I didn't seem welcome. It was as if whatever happened last night was terrible. I went back to the place me and that guy met last night and still saw him. Turns out he didn't get back up and I was hallucinating. I picked up his body and took him to jail. Then bang I hear something and fall to the floor. With a loud thud I looked over and it was an officer I worked with. The guy I was carrying shot him dead. I quickly dropped him and got to a table and flipped it over. Just in time as he emptied his mag into the table. And that's when I went for my gun, then I realized he had it, and I was the reason he killed that man. Then the gun shots stopped.
I got arrested because it was my gun that he took. But because I didn't want to help him and he had killing intent when he shot at me. I had a reduced sentence but I still had 3 years.
But nonetheless I was still hunted. And then finally I found where he lives then, bang. It blew up, gone never to see again along with any chance I had of getting my revenge. But then I heard it, his laugh. And then the question I hated so much. “You don't know who I am, do you.” I turned around and saw him with my gun in hand. And I knew if I moved he would pull the trigger.
