I spotted her. A bright red dress in the middle of all the black dresses. She walks, a brisk walk. I follow, a slight jog. She reaches the end of the street and the bright red traffic light. Her unfaltering step saw her breeze past the oncoming limousines. I rush after her, hot blood pumping though my head.
Then she turns back. I stare at her vivid black pupils, her red, half open lips. She smiled revealing white, pointy teeth, “Hi, I’m Sam.” And I took her outstretched hand. It was cold, oh so very cold.
