Number Three
She walked silently through her house, trying not to make a sound. He had already got her brother and mother, there was no going back, and she didn’t want to be number three. This man had broken into her house to rob the place she assumed, but he killed her mother and brother. She thanked God her father was away on business, she had to make it out, to him. She crept out of the darkness onto the moon lit stairs, afraid to be seen, but had to make it down stairs. She tried to be quiet but one of the stairs squeaked through out the house. The man came out of the darkness and was now at the bottom of the stairs. She could finally see his face, “Dad?” she said.
