Nolan's Amazing Story
Emily Master's piece, "Nolan's Amazing Story," truly touched my heart. I know what it is like to see a young child struggle in the battle against acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her name was Amber and she was five years old when i met her at a local children's hospital. Like Nolan, she underwent aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. Reluctantly, Amber is also apart of 66 percent that survived. Amber is ten now, in remission, and full of life. In my opinion, Emily's story is an eye-opener because at times like those you think that there is no one else in the world who understands what your going through. However, her story has made me realize there are other people out there fighting this cancer. Thank you Emily for reminding me how important it is to never give up hope because you never know when a miracle will happen.
