Should Students Be Allowed to participate in extracurricular activities if they have bad grades?
High school students are more likely to be kicked out of extracurricular activities because of their grades.
I believe that students should be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities if they have low grades because it can serve to be quite helpful. Extracurricular activities can enhance a student’s selection. For example, a drama club helps people to understand the position as an actor.
Extracurricular activities teach real-world skills, such as journalism, photography or debate, which can lead to lifelong interests, even careers. Most colleges even care that students are involved in an extracurricular activity. If students apply for a college and they see that students have participated in any extracurricular activities, they are going to pick someone who has.
Some may say although extracurricular activities have their advantages, they have their disadvantages also. Opponents of allowing students with bad grades to participate in extracurricular say extracurricular activities can distract a student from their school work. The students may begin to make up excuses for their homework or even late homework. They are wrong because everything doesn’t have to be based on academics. Those who are involved in extracurricular activities may have some problems on their mind and they need something to occupy their time and relieve the stress that it may bring.

Extracurricular activities serve an important role on a person’s well being. Most extracurricular activities boosts up self-esteem, team spirit and also relieve stress. That is why I believe students should still be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities even if they have low grades.
