When I Grow Up...
What do you want to be when you grow up?
This old question has been asked many times
I used to say the first thing that came to mind
Like teacher or scientist
But this time I thought about it.
I thought and thought
And I realized
Life doesn’t end with what you want to be
or what career you choose.
It keeps on going.
We are always changing, and learning, and growing,
slowly becoming better people.
It’s when we become who we were meant to be
that life decides to end.
So instead of asking our kids
what they want to be,
we should ask
Who do you want to become
