Coaches can ruin a sport just by how they act

I personally believe many things about dance. One thing I strongly believe is that the love for dance can be ruined by a coach. In my personal experience I have had many amazing coaches but a few that made me question why I was still dancing. For instance last year I had a teacher that never cared and made it obvious they were there for the money. Shortly after many kids left because of him he got fired resulting in an amazing teacher. She cared about the students and helped them through things dance related but also personal issues if we ever needed her. Sadly she was in her gap year so she left the following year to pursue her career at grad school. This year I had a teacher that clearly showed favoritism towards one student and picked on the rest just for fun. She believed we couldn't do harder choreography so we got stuck with a dance I could do at the age of 12. Once again we are having a teacher switch mid year except this time the teacher is worse. The teacher is fresh out of grad school and can't do the style of dance she is coaching. Because of these unfortunate past years with the switch of teachers and other issues with my studio I believe it may be my last year of dance. I will always miss the love I have for dance and all the memories at the studio but what's best for me now may be to leave.
