my name

My name means joy, it’s in portuguese/latin that's why most Americans have a hard time pronouncing it. My nickname is Leti, my boy best friend from 6th grade gave me that nickname. If i could ever change my name I would change it to Aleyna because it’s a lot easier to pronounce then Leticia. A lot of people say my name like, “ letisha”, but it’s pronounced like

“ letisia” . I think if I did change my name to Aleyna i wouldn’t feel different but it would be strange to have people calling me a different name. The name leticia means joy, "Happiness" and is of Latin origin.” My name has caused me to get in trouble because I get really upset when people pronounce it wrong, and i give attitude sometimes when people say it wrong. I was named after this spanish telenovela my parents used to watch.

Everyone’s name is unique and beautiful, I like my name but the only thing i dont like is when people mispronounce it. My last name is portuguese, “ Araujo” a lot of people pronounce it like, “ ara-uh-ho” but there is a j there not a,h. I feel like it isnt that hard to say but for most people it is. I wish i had my middle name as my last name, Nicolau. It wouldve been a lot easier to say, then my last name. I am glad that I have a name that not a lot of people have, I’m glad it’s not a common name, it’s something unique. My full name is, Leticia DeJesus Nicolau A. which the DeJesus, comes from i was born on the day of this Portuguese feast that’s really important if you’re from Saint Michael Azores, Portugal. It’s called “ Bom Jesus D’a Pedra”. It’s this huge party we have, thanking god. Tons of people show up to this feast.

This is my name.
