My Experience at Harry Styles' Love On Tour
It was November 28th. A seemingly normal morning for anyone else, but a day that would be significant for me forever. I got out of bed with butterflies in my stomach. Turning to my Harry Styles poster and thinking "I'm actually seeing him today". That's right. Today was the day I had been anticipating for what felt like an eternity. The Harry Styles concert, my first ever concert.
I turned to my green suit and kiwi earrings, carefully picked a month prior to fit the extravagant theme of Harry Styles' Love on Tour unofficial dress code. A boa was also mandatory for a Harry concert. This tradition started when he wore a boa to the Grammys.
The day went by much too slowly for my liking, but of course, I spent the whole time listening to Harry Styles. It came time to get ready. I put my suit on and hung my kiwi earrings from my ears. I felt the cold hairspray against my scalp as I slicked my hair back into a sleek half-up, half-down hairstyle. I dusted some green shimmer under my eyes, and just like that, I was ready.
Once again, the car ride was entirely too long for my liking. In a feeble attempt to calm my nerves I played some, you guessed it, Harry Styles. To my surprise, that did not help at all and actually made me even shakier.
The arena was lit up in pink and purple. A huge screen adorned a picture of Harry and the words "Harry Styles Love on Tour UBS Arena".
My friend, Luella, and I let out some stereotypical fangirl squeals and entered the building.
There it was. The stage. The stage that Harry would be on and we were only twenty rows away from it.
The preshow playlist consisted of some of our favorite songs that the crowd thoroughly enjoyed like Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Toxic by Britney Spears, Olivia by One Direction, and Empire State of Mind.
The lights turn off.
Harry's vocals begin. My heart is beating as fast as Ferrari. "Style is the answer to everything" a loud voice fills the arena, along with the high-pitched screams of thousands.
Luella, Maddy (my brother's girlfriend), and I turn to each other and scream. My brother can't help but laugh at our reaction, and I don't blame him. I giggle at the recording every time I watch it.
Tears roll down my face. “Am I actually crying right now?” I think to myself.
"To do a dull thing with style is preferable to doing a dangerous thing without it," I say along with the intro that I've memorized.
"Style is a difference, a way of doing, a way of being done." Harry raises out of the stage and the arena lights up golden.
And it began. My first-ever concert. I had such a wonderful time and from that day forward my love for music only grew.
