Summary:

While out running last-minute errands, Clara runs into a puzzling and yet intriguing stranger who promises to see her again. And yet the mysterious person's intentions are the least of her worries... 

When she arrives home, she finds that her mother is in a delusional fit as a result of the deaths beginning to haunt the city. Though tempted to leave, Clara opts to stay to take care of her baby brother. However, with a lack of food looming larger as time goes on, her mother's increasingly erratic behavior, and the fever threatening to pick them off one by one, is there hope for life to continue? And would Clara want it to?
