What July 4th Means to Me
Fireworks flying through the sky, loud bangs, bright lights, hanging out until 10 o’clock. Leaving my best friend at home costed her life. It was her first encounter to fireworks. I should've been there to comfort her, instead I was to busy hanging out with friends down the street. I had a dream I was going to find her in the shed, breathing heavily, temperature skyrocketing, that's exactly how i found her when i got home. I should've known, I should have protected her. But since i didnt I lost the one I cared about the most. I relive the moment I found her everyday, every night, and in my dreams. I think that it’s my fault she's gone, but i know i couldn't have predicted this from happening. Fourth of July will never be the same for me.
