The lonely cheetah
A cheetah is born in the dark.
It grows in the care of it's elders.
Out there, there it is only survival, so it survives.
It ignores the other cheetahs. It cannot be distracted.
But there is doubt in its heart.
The hunt awaits, so the cheetah goes, and ignores the doubt.
And the unhappiness in it’s heart grows.
The cheetah hunts.
It fights to survive, fights to live.
It obeys it's elders, and it fights.
There can only be one leader, the elders say.
You must be that leader.
You must be part of the top, part of the best.
So the cheetah fights.
But there is doubt in the cheetah’s heart.
The hunt awaits, so the cheetah goes, and ignores the doubt.
And the unhappiness in it’s heart grows.
The cheetah is strong.
Other cheetah’s come and ask to hunt with him, but he cannot.
He must be the best, he must be the top.
The cheetah wants to stay and be happy, but it cannot.
It’s elders want it to go, so it does.
But there is doubt in the cheetah’s heart.
The hunt awaits, so the cheetah goes, and ignores the doubt.
And the unhappiness in it’s heart grows.
The cheetah hunts and hunts.
And, at last, it is top.
But the cheetah’s heart is empty.
The victories do not fill his heart.
It wonders, why did I hunt?
If I stayed, I could have been happy.
And my heart could have been full.
It wants to go back, but it cannot.
It has chosen his path, but the path has been full of brambles.
And the destination was lonely.
The cheetah gives up in grief.
And the cheetah did not survive.
