I am a tree
Weathering wind, rain, and thunder
A little taller each time, for
What does not kill us only makes us stronger

I am green and young
Stretching upwards towards the sky
Reaching for what can never be attained

I am strong in my foundation
Roots reaching deep beneath the earth
Looking for life-giving water

I am covered in armor
A bark which protects me
Hiding the vulnerability within

I am a tree
Weathered, yet young
Strong, yet vulnerable
I am a tree
