The wind gently blows
As the sun warms my skin
The birds tweet cheerfully
As the clouds travel across the bright blue sky
Happy voices come from my house
As I sit here trying to wake my smile from a deep sleep
The tree branches sway slightly
As I try not to cry about what I’ve done
The world around me is so happy
As I try to forget I’m so sad
I try to erase the guilt and pain but it won’t leave
Staying forever in my heart.

Wow, I can most definitely relate... I often feel alone and rather melancholy, and focusing on the beauty in life only makes the pain more apparent.

Those who say that sunshine is happiness have never danced in the rain.

it kinda reminds me of my own poetry (dont take that as an insult...haha) it starts off in a carefree note but then progresses to a more dark tone. rlly effective. luk at my poetry!

Nice poem. It's very powerful. You should write more poems. Check out my new poem: A letter to love
