How to Define Alive
When you look to define alive
what comes up is not fixed
While some say it’s a concoction
of chemicals starting to mix
Others say it’s a feeling
Which animals seem to lack
One you are able to lose
through a virus or attack
What makes you alive
Well science says they know
It is a set of reactions
with conditions you must hold
We can find the signs
To tell us what's alive
But we can not explain it
For the answer’s not clearly defined
Life is only temporary
That’s a constantly stated fact
This world is indifferent
You won't be welcomed back
Because life is that cycle
Always turning round
Because what comes up
Must fall back down
