Fly Ball
(A Poem About America's Greatest Joy - Baseball)
The rush keeps pumping faster and faster
Louder and louder the crowd is screaming
The time is now
"Catch The Ball..."
The crack of the bat immediatley catches my attention
"Don't Drop It.."
Watching the ball soar higher as far as the eye can see
"No Pressure..."
Settling under the ball
Awaiting
Thoughts racing through my mind...
"Will I Make It?..."
The stress lies and waves itself into me
Taking a risk,
Chance
Reaching...
With a sigh of relief I feel the comfort...
Fall into my hands
World Champions is now our name.
And I..am the hero!
