"Lyrics that mean nothing, we were gifted with thought" -Holding onto you, 21 pilots.

The black dog / of depression / follows me / all around town.

I try to / shake him off but / he still lingers / in my shadows.

The hatred / I feel eases as / I learn to live / beside him.

This piece is a Sijo Poem which is a Korean verse form related to haiku and tanka and comprised of three lines of 14-16 syllables each, for a total of 44-46 syllables. Each line is written in four groups of syllables that should be clearly differentiated from the other groups, yet still, flow together as a single line.
