Alone
Alone on a Friday,
Alone on a Saturday.
You’ve got friends to call,
But you’d be wasting their precious time.
They never listen to you.
They look away and ignore you when you bring it up.
They don’t bother to look interested.
Why lie?
You don’t feel like you’re worth their time anyway.
What does it matter when they won’t listen to you?
When they won’t believe you?
When they don’t understand how fast its gnawing at your insides?
You’re failing.
You’re not good enough.
You’re trying as hard as you can.
It’s still not near good enough.
But what does it matter when you’re all alone anyway?
You could end this here and now and no one would care.
They’d never know,
Because you were always alone anyway.
