By the time we discovered that the church tree was infected with the disease in 2017.

Her legacy will never fade.

For the Olive Tree is a part of the family.

A grandmother: the  symbol of love, hope, and power.

Children build fortresses on their branches.

While shade offers cover for romance and funeral wakes alike.

My  Tree forever stands high watching over me.

Looking down upon our family for many generations.

And when the autumn Olive Tree harvest finally arrives.

Its long awaited celebration of food is finally delivered.

As the fruit tells a story of a new beginning and life.

So I will honor my mighty Olive Tree.

Its legacy of beauty, strength, and grace

My  Olive Tree will live on forever.
