With lines from “There is no Standard’: Investigation Finds AI Algorithms Objectify Women’s Bodies"  By Hilke Schellmann, A Pulitzer Center Reporting Project

She wore her work clothes

A blue shirt, jeans and tennis shoes with her hair up.

How could anyone say she was asking for it?

He wore the same thing yet she was objectified.

She was in trouble for reaching out.

“Hurt,  unheard, disappointed.”

Somehow she became the problem.

She clocked in,

Avoided contact,

She couldn't,

He brushed against her

He starred

He commented

He touched

He violated.

silenced

she felt           invisible

Months went on

She didn't talk

She felt gross in her own skin

She didn't understand.

She didn't understand what she did

She did nothing

She showed up for work

I saw her walk in, she lost the sparkle she once had

I watched her flinch and keep to herself

She broke down.

Why is there no standard?

Apparently she needed protection when she wore her work clothes.
