Following A Path
Walking alone a path that started
With me and you and now is just one
A path ends upon the beginning of a tree trunk
Without thought I climb the tree
Maybe if I climb high and search down and low
I’ll find a trace of you
And that trace will lead me to you
Nothing but darkness
The tears flow down my pale cheeks
You used to wipe them away with a kiss
Now you are the cause of them
What do I do what can I do
I dig through my pockets and find a key
A key to your heart you said to me
But you locked yourself from the inside
And refused to let me in
Love is not a hard thing to find
Trying hard enough
I could find another to unlock
But not with this key
It won’t fit anywhere but to you
So I insert the key inside me and turn
As you have locked your heart away
I also follow the deed
It is done
I smile and wipe a stray tear away
And watch it fall towards the ground
I reach over and drop the key
And follow its way to the ground
It is done
We both walked a path
And you strayed from it
Leaving me to walk alone
But I will find my way back
My path will lead me to you
See you soon
Don’t walk too fast
