Untitled MAG
The city slickers appraise the rain
And sidle out from the marquis
A fizzle and then the cigarette falls
Blinking to destiny
It's the best kind of weather
For not being noticed.
The car and the home
Office, salon
Call louder
When it's raining.
So I'm happy to lean on a streaked store window
And enjoy puddle-jumping ballets
Corporate gods who scowl
At the deliberate inconvenience
Time to go
The smell of damp money
Is a little
Too strong
