Swimmer MAG
beneaththe sea I see myself
across the sand to the ocean's shelf
my mind brawlswith a violent tide
my eyes sea-stung and opened wide
the sky istantalizing as it floats above
the only thing I have left to love
beyond mymost hopeless dreams
something so beautiful, it cannot be seen
until I letit flicker, through the green
that stings my eyes and fills between
thepastel canopy and the jagged ocean floor
the sight inspiring, something toswim for
and now surface glows under filmy moonlight
I am chilled by windand I shiver in delight
my life below was dark and deep
laced with sorrow,flooded by grief
above, the air is crisp and clean
the troubled water willstay unseen
