Beautiful
I am beautiful in my own way,
In the way of the leaves rustling,
And of the lightning flashing,
In the way of the thunder and the rain,
You cannot describe it,
But you know it's there.
Perhaps it is not the most beautiful thing you've seen,
But it means something,
Something more than you understand.
I am beautiful.
Perhaps not in the way you expected,
But I am still beautiful.

Beauty is indeed a complicated thing. I like the way you describe it though. I actually think there are more people out there that appreciate "unconvential beauty" more than stereotypical beauty. Unfortunately, we hear about the stereotypes far more often. Perhaps if more people read your poem, we'd get more accustomed to unconventional beauty. :)
