First Love MAG
I left my first lovein Clearwater beach
I remember upreaching condos, fading into Dad'srearview
Into night sky neon lights gently left me, too
She swallowedbodies,
then crashed onto the shore
Reminded me of
The beating of adrum
Or thunder in a storm
Brightly shining was the sun
Salty airjumped on my tongue
I felt my fair skin tingling;
heard Caribbeaninstruments jingling
But still she was sounding
In my ears her roar waspounding
The scent of shrimp and salmon
From Sal's SeafoodStand
Swiftly slipped into my senses
I heard Dad's reprimand
Too far forhim to spank
But too near to get away
I walked back to where he lay
Andmy ears heard him say
Something, although nothing
For I listened onlyto her
Whether she got louder
Or I simply listened harder
To thisday I don't know
But I still can see
The bubbling salt and sandmixing
As she chased my feet
Softly, slowly, the sound faded
Andjust the same, my heart became jaded
She will stay in my mind
All mylife
The memory of
My first love
