Why
twirling

she swung her hair flapping around her, alive like butterflies
 her eyes were blank,
 the color of light,
blind and winding circles like planes in the skyline

she sighed, the ache in her thighs and burn of the lies she felt
 like she was dying

crawling, seeping out to feel his whispers
 rubbing rubbery along hers

as he melted off, peeling back red and puddling beneath
 like silver,
pooling in wells of slippery truth
 studded with hollow cries

not again, she thought. and then she was lost
