A Poet's Pleeding
Wrap me in parchment;
drown me in ink.
I want to last forever within' someones memory.
Coat me in acrylic;
lock away my poetry in attic drawers.
Leave little pieces of me behind closed doors.
I want to live forever within' someones memory.
Bathe me in words;
batter me with their meanings.
Let me, one day, escape their shackles,
but live forever within' someones memory.
Leave me now to my companions, my words.
Who with hollow solace I convey my fear.
Leave me to waste away my life behind my vise of a pen.
Is this my gift or my curse?
Let me live forever in someones memory.
Right now the ink stains of my fingers don't mean a thing.
Let me live forever within' someone's memory.
