My Gift to You
I want to give you the moon,
to tie a big bow around it
and put it on your finger,
for it to shine and glow
and to see you grin like a loon.
I want to give you the sea,
to put it in a clear bowl
to watch the fishes swim,
to see your eyes fill with glee.
I want to give you the universe,
a vast space of color and wonder
to watch you dance within its beauty,
for your enchanted grace is my curse.
I want to give you my love,
brighter than the moon,
more wonder than the sea,
more vast than the universe,
to feel your arms encircle me,
of all the rest our love rises above.
