&quot;It&#039;s not about how hard you can hit, it&#039;s about how hard you can get hit and keep going.&quot; - Rocky<br /> &quot; If life gives you lemons........ go sit in the living room and watch TV.&quot; - My dad on what to do if life gives you lemons

Why did you leave me?
Why did you go?
Every year, we hold back our tempers and hide behind our plastic smiles . You always got us through it, you were our guiding light. Now we are all alone in this field of darkness, we don't know which way to turn, which path to take, our guiding light has disappeared. We have no more reason to celebrate or gather this time of year; our shining light has disappeared, it has vanshed and it is no more. All I want to do now is curl up and lay in the cold darkness until death consumes my numb body and soul. Now and forever, I am nothingness.

The author's comments:
I wrote this in thought of my Great Granfather and (more recently) my Great Grandmother's death. They were the only thing keeping our family together, and they were the only reason we gathered around the time of the holidays. Now that they are gone, we simply mail our gifts and send our thank-you letters if there are any. I hope you like this poem, it's rather dark, but that's how I felt when I wrote this.
