Losing Time
Something in the air is indefinitely wrong
The time I’m waiting for is taking too long.
What life I retain is passing by way too fast
They tell me I’ll make it but that won’t last.

Death is pressing against my skin
I try to fight but cannot win.
Wanting to weep or even cry
Just waiting for my time to die.

Losing time is an eternal pain
 Only death stands to gain.
Something in the air is infinitely wrong,
Death is waiting on me far too long.

As the machines beep in place of my heart,
I only wish to leave this body, truly depart.
For although life is great and a real godsend,
Even this amazing gift has a place to end.
